An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, inspirational, young person-centred Residential Manager to lead and manage our established and skilled team in the day-to-day running of a 5 bed children’s home in Sunderland. You must be able to register with Ofsted and must meet the following criteria:
* NVQ or QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Children's Services)
* NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Services
* Experience working in a residential children's home environment holding a Senior, Deputy Manager or Registered Manager’s position
Our home provides medium to long-term placements for young people aged 13-18. We require a manager who has vision and an outward looking approach and who can demonstrate sound partnership practice, the ability to form lasting working relationships with staff, colleagues, management, professionals whilst at all times ensuring the needs, wishes and views of young people are placed at the heart of yours’s and your team's practice. You must be resilient and committed to working through issues and challenges in a positive and solution-focused way and have tenacity and passion to achieve the best possible outcomes for the young people we serve.
You will be required to maintain a child-centred, competent and motivated staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance and support to all staff which is focused on ensuring the wellbeing of children in our care being at all times ambitious about supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes. You will be required to ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively and creatively for the benefit of young people in our care. This will involve:
* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people ensuring the home remains fully compliant with all legislation in particular that set out in the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (CHR) including the Quality Standards
* Developing systems for the efficient administration of the home
* Ensuring that the fabric of the home is maintained to the highest quality and complies with Health and Safety requirements
* Working effectively and in close partnership with placing authorities and all professionals involved in care planning to achieve the best possible ambitious outcomes for all young people
* Writing reports, monitoring and ensuring the team is updating and maintaining required documentation at all times
* Supporting our young people and engaging them and the staff team in creating a friendly and relaxed environment which encourages enjoyment, respect, positive self-esteem and motivation which ensures young people achieve their goals
* Having a thorough understanding and keeping up to date with all relevant legislation
