Digital Solutions & RPA Manager – Peterborough, UK (hybrid)
As Digital Solutions & RPA Manager in our Peterborough office (hybrid), you will strengthen and drive our digital solutions team – driving operating improvements across the organisation that will directly improve the quality of service to our customers. You will be expected to challenge current process orthodoxy and strive for a step-change in the way that we process and operate.
Your team is responsible for the digitisation and automation of the operations processes through the design and development of solutions including (but not limited to) Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology to eliminate administrative work from our organisation; in this role you will provide technical leadership that streamlines operations, enhances productivity, and fosters innovation across our organisation.
You will bring a strong architectural mind and product development experience with subject matter expertise in areas of UiPath, RPA, and strong knowledge of automating solutions on Web, Citrix, Desktop Applications, and AWS with direct experience in delivering in an agile Software Development environment, along with a good business understanding and the ability to measure and track the value the team is creating.
In this senior role, you will contribute to the evaluation of candidate business processes for automation suitability, working directly with the operations leaders and technology architects to perform analysis, build and manage the solutions backlog, provide recommendations, define requirements, and provide inputs to the design of innovative solutions in accordance with standard design principles and conventions. Consistent with a senior position, the role operates with a high degree of autonomy and practices reasoned judgment.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a team for both building and running automated solutions, and act as the leading technologist within the Op Tech team.
You will be responsible for:
1. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of solution architects, engineering, business analysts, product management & infosec to deliver new automation solutions that provide provable business value.
2. Manage a team of automation engineers, provide guidance to other developers within the team to develop, maintain, and embed tools and practices in how we work, using them to ensure a robust, repeatable framework for execution.
3. Complete the development, testing and deployment of RPA solutions – defining testing strategies and scenario reviews with project teams.
4. Identify gaps and constraints associated with business requirements, working with the solution architect to translate into technical requirements.
5. Defect tracking and resolution, continuous improvement.
6. Develop proof-of-concepts, documenting benefits and recommendations.
7. Identify and document process flows, procedures, rules governing the development life-cycle.
8. Serve as the technical expert for RPA, Macros, and other automation tools.
9. Support RPA environment operations and maintenance, including KPI definition and tracking, event logging & monitoring, auditing & reporting of RPA performance. Track benefits.
10. Contribute to the evaluation and technical integration of other technologies (low code solutions, OCR, AI / ML etc.).
You should apply if you have:
1. Extensive professional coding experience with Python, VB.NET or C# and VBA or similar.
2. Deep experience in developing automation solutions using UiPath or similar RPA technology.
3. Strong people management experience.
4. Knowledge of AWS and deploying automation solutions on native cloud services.
5. Experience with crafting detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), specific to building Robotic Process Automations, and training briefs for junior developers.
6. Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and interact efficiently with multi-disciplinary teams.
7. Experience within a global corporate environment with multi-site operations.
8. Excellent communication skills, use of virtual project management tools, leading virtual meetings/workshops, and other work exercises.
