Our Operator client are recruiting for a Decomm & Wells Contracts Manager to join the team in Aberdeen in managing decommissioning and wells contracts strategy, lifecycle and procurement.

Key Responsibilities and background:
Responsible for driving strategic contracting across the organization. The role develops and implements a category management approach, creates annual procurement plans, and manages the contract lifecycle from strategy to performance. They lead the post-award contract management, ensuring contractors meet performance targets. The role also collaborate with key stakeholders to secure approvals, negotiate contracts, and manage changes effectively.
* Lead the development and implementation of a category management approach to strategic contracting, including the creation of an annual contracting plan and facilitation of regular Category Reviews
* Drive post-award Contract Performance Management (CPM) and ensure effective management of contractor performance delivery
* Develop and implement contracting strategies, establishing processes for effective contract lifecycle management, from strategy development to contract performance
* Work collaboratively with key strategic contractors to ensure clear understanding of business delivery needs and continual monitoring of performance targets (KPIs) towards successful attainment
* Drive process and performance improvement by implementing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with key business objectives (cost, quality, schedule, etc.)
* Secure approvals from internal and external stakeholders, and shareholders for contract awards, ensuring alignment and compliance with the governance process
* Negotiate and finalise contracts using standard RRUK contract templates in conjunction with the Legal department, ensuring the quality of negotiated agreements
* Enable the organization to manage change effectively, through Variation Orders (VORs) and amendments, throughout the lifecycle of major contracts
* Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to strategy development papers, invitations to tender, evaluation plans, recommendations to award, and negotiating plans to ensure alignment with company goals
* Conduct regular performance discussions with direct reports, fostering cross-functional cooperation and mentoring emerging leaders within the department.
* Conduct the end to end contracting process for the initiatives assigned
* Emphasize on cost saving and cost avoidance.
* Responsible for the annual contracting plan for respective area
* Collaborate with SCM central areas looking for synergies
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
* Bachelor or Masters Degree in Business; Supply Chain Management; Contractual Law; or relevant field
* IPS, CSCP, PMP, CPSM or similar certification preferred.
* Significant experience in managing Decomm & Wells contracts within the oil & gas industry
* Proficient in Oil & Gas Supply Chain Management within the UKCS’ regulatory framework, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and contracting prac tices.
* Strong commercial and contractual acumen.
