You have a strong understanding and ability to apply laws, statutory guidance, and local policies that govern child protection work. You exhibit a proficient ability to speak, write, and read in English, with confidence and accuracy, suitable for complex situations. You hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or degree in social work) and are registered with Social Work England. You demonstrate a high level of resilience in stressful environments and provide a clear direction when supporting and safeguarding children and young people. You are experienced in implementing a Signs of Safety solution-focused approach. What the Job Involves Supervising, leading, and supporting team managers within child protection service areas. Overseeing risk management and decision-making processes, ensuring adherence to professional standards and legal frameworks. Promoting solution-focused, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with families and professionals. Managing recruitment, retention, and development of staff, ensuring adequate team capacity in line with service workload. Developing and contributing to policy and service improvement strategies to enhance service delivery. Providing expert social work and child protection knowledge to multi-agency partners and representing the local authority professionally. Maintaining management and practice oversight of all work completed within the service for compliance with laws and policies. Conducting regular supervision and appraisals, managing performance, and providing support to staff during crises and after-hours emergencies. Ensuring effective resource management to provide optimal support within the allocated budget.
