Job Description Lifecycle Engineer Bristol Fulltime An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Lifecycle Engineer to join the Defence team in Bristol. This highly challenging and interesting role provides the opportunity to lead the customer technical interface; own operational issues and requires balancing the needs and expectations of the customer with the demands of our business. Lifecycle Engineers are responsible for providing in-service technical support to the product to ensure safe, reliable and disruption free operation. They also influence maturity across the product Lifecycle to meet customer & business needs. What you will be doing: We are looking to fill 2 vacancies in the UK&I Transport, Naval & Legacy Lifecycle Engineering team. Provide product technical support for in-service operation, identifying, investigating the root cause of, and resolving in-service technical issues. Manage known and potential safety issues (Safety Alert Reports & Red Tops). Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentations and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers and internal stakeholders with in-service experience to influence new product design and develop support strategies across the product lifecycle Develop and approve the technical content of publications /communications including acceptance limit development. Who we’re looking for: Educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/ or have experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered. You will be working towards Chartered/Incorporated status or be a Chartered Engineer/ hold an affiliate / associate membership of a relevant professional body. A broad understanding of Gas Turbine physical and functional characteristics is desirable, but training will be provided to develop this. Familiarity of the in-service operation environment, including Naval product and regulatory / compliance requirements would be advantageous. Highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking, including personal drive, excellent communication and presentation skills, and will need to contribute effectively in a team environment. The ability to achieve UK security clearance may be required for the role. There may also be a requirement to travel in the UK to meet business needs.
