Perm.
Are you a scientist with experience designing and leading scientific research programs across disciplines? Do you enjoy translating scientific findings into actionable business insights and presenting to stakeholders? Do you want a science role 'out of the lab'?
As a Scientific Emerging Trends and Foresight Specialist and a key part of NPD and R&D Science Discovery, you would be evaluating scientific research to look at trends and risks, or scientific threats and opportunities to a portfolio of scientific findings, which would then be communicated to the R&D Leadership Team.
You would be monitoring scientific publications, conferences, clinical trials, and IP, helping the team maintain an awareness and overview of any developments in these sources. Once a potential opportunity or threat has been identified, proof-of-concept (POC) investigations may need to be completed to determine initial technical feasibility.
Depending upon the foresight, such investigations required can range from in silico, in vitro, and, where appropriate, human studies to screen and evaluate. Alternatively, investigations can be run as accelerator projects with external partners (such as technology start-ups) using agile methodologies.
