PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – ROTHERWAS, HEREFORD
Chunc Limited is a family run business and forms part of the HR Smith Group. We design, develop and manufacture a range of manual attendant controlled wheelchairs in our factory based in Hereford. We offer indoor and outdoor mobility solutions for children and young adults with moderate to profound disabilities. Our highly adaptable chair designs are able to accommodate complex postural needs.

Being part of the HR Smith Group, Chunc is able to work alongside our aerospace manufacturing teams, drawing on their extensive engineering experience and machine and mould shop facilities. Currently we are looking for a Production Supervisor at Chunc Wheelchairs, to oversee and actively participate in the day-to-day manufacturing processes. As a key member of the production team, you will ensure that operations run efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with company objectives. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and a proactive attitude, who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise, lead, and motivate the production team to meet daily targets and maintain high morale.
• Plan and assign tasks to team members, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
• Provide hands-on support to the team, including training and development.
• Oversee daily production schedules and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.
• Monitor workflow and resolve any bottlenecks or production challenges.
• Actively participate in production tasks.
• Execute MRP
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers
• Coordinate with the jigs and fixtures department to ensure all requirements for jigs and fixtures are met.
• Originate change notes, modification notes, and other project management paperwork
• Manage documentation, including technical manuals with the design department.
• Oversee maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery in the production area.
• Ensure all products meet Chunc’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with management to develop and refine production strategies.
• Maintain accurate production records, including performance metrics and incident reports.
• Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to the Operations Manager.

• Hours are based on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm with half an hour each day for lunch. No weekend, evening or bank holiday working.
