Job Title: Instrument Designer
Job Role: Contract role
Location: North Yorkshire - Middlesbrough
Overview: A brilliant business that has been one of the key providers of clean energy and sustainable products in the UK for a number of years. With a number of long-term, key projects, this role will work as part of the design team, on site, and have input into all aspects of works.
Team Environment: You will join a highly skilled team that are not overloaded with work but have great projects to keep them busy. This is a days role with Monday to Friday hours available. You should have experience from any process background of Oil & Gas/Petrochem. This role could suit Instrument technicians that have worked their way up to doing design work.
What you will do:
1. Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures, executing assigned scopes of work. Technically competent in own discipline. Provide discipline support to the business.
2. Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments.
3. Experience of schematics, instrument cable block, loop, hook-up diagrams and appropriate instrument and valve schedules.
4. Produce and review instrument location drawings based on the instrument database, EFDs and plant layout drawings. Liaise with engineers to ensure design intent is implemented.
