To monitor project works at multiple sites for the installation of retrofit measures.
To liaise regularly, and provide information to the retrofit coordinators, Savills Consultants, in order to ensure compliance with designs, quality of works and adherence to health and safety requirements.
To be the client-facing representative on site for the works, and undertake tenant engagement as required, with support from project administration team and the constructor tenant liaison officers.
Your new role
* Inspecting construction work and comparing it with drawings and specifications.
* Measuring and quality checking building materials.
* Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them.
* Monitoring progress and reporting to retrofit coordinators and project quantity surveyor.
* Keeping detailed records of work including photographs. The retrofit coordinator will be dependent on the CofW providing appropriate and sufficient evidence that works are progressing compliantly.
* Referring to plans and taking photographs of work, along with measurements and samples.
* Liaising with contractors, engineers, and surveyors.
* Checking that building regulations, health and safety, legal and ecological requirements are met.
* Working between an office and construction sites.
* Ensure written correspondence to residents is generated and distributed in line with the programme of works and to the standard set out in the tenant engagement plan.
* Collaborate with the main contractor and Savills assessors to ensure access to properties by contacting and arranging with residents.
* Attend site events on occasion and in agreement with the project manager and maintain regular visits to site to meet tenants and liaise with the contractor on retrofit related tenant issues.
* To initiate actions and coordinate with the contractor and other GSA staff and departments where tenant issues require a joined-up and wider team intervention, for example, where hoarding has been identified.
* To coordinate any complaints about the works or project process.
To raise or adjust works or repair orders as required or to ensure that such orders are raised by the appropriate resources as identified by the project manager.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience of using a housing management IT system.
* Experience of a customer-facing service.
* Member of CIOB or RICS.
* A qualification in, or experience and good knowledge of, health and safety.
* Achieved or studying for The Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate.
