This is a 38-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time only.

Musselburgh Burgh Primary School was built in 1964 as a merger between the original Burgh School and Fisherrow School. The Burgh is situated in Musselburgh town centre.
The ground floor of the building houses two classrooms, our Nursery, a Nurture Room, large Assembly Hall with Stage, Dining Hall, Gym Hall, Meeting Room and several offices. Ten further classrooms, a Library, and Support for Learning room are located in the two storey block. Currently the school has 10 classes from P1 to P7 as well as a Nursery with capacity for 48 children.
The school is supported by a Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, 1 Principal Teacher, 10 class Teachers, a Support for Learning Teacher, a PE Teacher, an Art Teacher and a Music Teacher.
Our new Additional Support Needs Auxiliary will support learning and teaching in some classrooms primarily around core curricular subjects and will support some children who have additional support needs on a 1:1 basis each day, in delivering a high quality child centred education which supports the needs of children and enables each child to achieve their potential within a caring, safe and welcoming environment.
To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.
Nursery Only:
SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration within 3 months of your start date to ensure that you are registered within the required 6 months.
