SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £96-£110 per day
Working hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-3.30pm
Empowering Learning is currently working with a popular primary school in Middlesbrough that requires SEN Teaching Assistants to start ASAP.

As an SEN / 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you should be prepared to make a serious commitment to someone. You will spend considerable time with children who need you to show faith and patience in their abilities, making the most of your sessions together.
It is important to encourage the children to communicate with you, finding a way together to overcome any behavioral problems and progress in education. Typical responsibilities include:
1. Supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom.
2. Helping pupils increase their confidence and self-esteem.
3. Agreeing and writing action plans to deal with problems.
By using your skills and previous experience, you will make a remarkable contribution to many children's lives and future potential.
This role will involve:
1. Supporting children with challenging behavior and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
2. Building positive relationships with students and staff.
3. Managing challenging behavior in a positive and proactive manner.
4. Willingness to interact with young people and develop new skills.
5. High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with children.
6. Working with teachers to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have a creative approach to teaching and provide both academic and emotional support to pupils.
2. Possess outstanding behavior and classroom management skills and develop positive relationships with staff and pupils.
3. Be committed, dedicated, and resilient, understanding the reasons behind challenging behavior and able to de-escalate and support children proactively.
4. Support children in a non-judgmental, non-confrontational manner.
5. Be able to work independently and as part of a team and show initiative.
6. Demonstrate effectiveness as a teaching assistant with experience in supporting teaching, learning, and SEND pupils.
7. Understand the role of a teaching assistant in supporting the class teacher and maintaining high standards in learning environments.
8. Deliver small group or 1:1 learning/social, emotional, and behavioral programs to secure outstanding progress.
