The Opportunity
Prime Workforce, on behalf of BEAR Scotland, is seeking an Entry-Level Operative to join their team in supporting road maintenance and improvement works across the trunk road network. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the infrastructure and road maintenance sector.
Key Responsibilities
As an Entry-Level Operative, you will:
1. Assist with Road Maintenance Activities: Support the team in various road maintenance tasks, including surface repairs and signage.
2. Carry out General Labouring Tasks: Perform duties such as cleaning work areas and preparing equipment for use.
3. Support Installation and Repairs: Assist in the installation and maintenance of safety barriers and road signs.
4. Operate Tools and Equipment: Safely operate relevant tools and equipment under guidance.
5. Follow Instructions: Work closely with senior team members, adhering to safety guidelines.
6. Adhere to Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures on site.
7. Assist with Site Preparation: Help prepare and maintain work sites.
Your Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you will bring:
1. A strong desire to learn and develop new skills in road maintenance.
2. Any experience in construction or general labouring will be advantageous.
3. A basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
4. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
5. The ability to carry out physically demanding tasks.
6. A full, approved UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
