About the role
As a Chef/Cook at MHA you will be responsible for managing the efficiency, hygiene and safety in the catering area, organising and supervising other staff working in the kitchen whilst maintaining the correct HACCP principals in all catering areas and ensuring all legislative standards are met. Prepare, cook and serve meals for residents on a daily basis, respecting residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice. Planning menus to provide nutritionally balanced and attractive meals and when necessary, providing for any special diets. An experienced caterer is required, with good planning, budget and stock control abilities. Taking stock of ingredients and creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh!

About you
* You will hold excellent communication and people skills and have the ability to work under pressure whilst using your creativity in preparing meals.
* Prepare, cook and serve meals for residents, visitors and staff on a daily basis. This may also include catering for ad-hoc events. This means being able to follow recipes as well as knowing the basic techniques to handle almost any food type.
* Being able to think about everything at once, and to understand and know what each section of the kitchen is working on is a skill in itself!
* You will be working in the home of the individuals you are cooking for, allowing you to get to know their likes and dislikes.
* You must have the ability to cook to budgets
* Be able to maintain a positive working environment and motivate the kitchen team to deliver excellent results
