Join our vibrant team as a Senior House Officer (SHO) specializing in the fascinating realm of psychiatry. We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic junior doctor with a burning passion for psychiatry to weave their expertise into the fabric of our team.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of medical and wider multi disciplinary team. The SHO will take on a role in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients within our Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and Older Age Acute units with supervision from our Consultant Psychiatrists.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities will include; Clerking in of patients, physical health and mental state examinations, participation in formulation of treatment plans, psycho education as well as input into medication management, tribunal and CPA reports amongst others.
In your day to day role you there may be times when you will be responding to psychiatric emergencies and crises when required.

As an SHO you will form key working relationships with the nursing, psychology, occupational therapy and medical teams. You will develop your skills in working with external stakeholders including carers.
In your day to day role you there may be times when you will be responding to psychiatric emergencies and crises when required.
You will be expected to show diligence and maintain accurate clinical records meeting the requirements of the hospital and regulatory standards.
Ongoing supervision and professional development will be offered in order to meet your CPD requirements.
Expected Qualifications:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.
Completion of the Foundation Year 1 (F1) and Foundation Year 2 (F2) training or equivalent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
