HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Education Law team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about educational rights and the legal framework surrounding them. Full training will be provided to those with relevant skills and a willingness to learn.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Assisting clients with inquiries related to education law, including special educational needs (SEN) matters.
* Providing updates to clients and monitoring the progress of their cases.
* Opening and closing files in compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
* Conducting legal research on education policies and legislation.
* Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and client communication.
* Supporting solicitors in preparing cases for hearings and appeals.
* Maintaining accurate records within our case management system.
* Performing general administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
* Providing reception cover when required.
Requirements
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A keen interest or experience in education law is an advantage.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting documents.
* There will be requirement to travel to our Bristol office.
