About the Role:
Within a fast-growing team, the Digital Operations Support Engineer will be responsible for analysing and fixing bugs, identifying and implementing features that ensure continuous improvement of applications. This individual will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure they can perform essential duties on optimised systems, reducing specific problems and automating processes while improving service stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven experience with Java 8+
- Skilled in conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective troubleshooting solutions.
- Experienced in identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements by transitioning manual processes to automated systems, with a strong focus on continuous improvement
- Proficient in using monitoring tools, particularly Grafana and Kibana.
- Strong technical expertise across a diverse technology stack, including MVC, JDBC, and RESTful architecture
- Build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle
- Various technologies and libraries within the Java ecosystem
- Skilled in using essential tools and languages, including SQL, Unix, CLI tools, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with both external and embedded databases, including relational and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, MySQL, Flink, Cassandra, SQL Server, Postgres), and developing schemas to support business logic and data.
- Hands-on experience working with production and non-production service instances.
- Expertise in transitioning services from project/development stages into live operational support.
- Strong ability to assess risks, manage pressure, and maintain clear communication with clients and the Digital Operations team.
