TREASURE has been providing high-quality logistics services to many of Britain’s best-known brand names for over 6 decades. Based in the Midlands, adjacent to the A1, we provide bulk beer tanking services, palletised freight distribution, warehouse services, IBC laundry and a CIP tank wash. The opportunity has arisen to join our specialist team.
Transport Planner/Supervisor (Nights) - The Role:
The role is to ensure aspects of the company’s operation is carried out in a compliant and legal manner whilst focusing on operational performance, creating a motivated workforce, succession planning and making TREASURE a great place to work. Develop an effective relationship with all other operations within TREASURE with the drive to build, improve and develop direct reports.
Transport Planner/Supervisor (Nights) - Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring that the freight on all network trunks is correctly scanned to the designated vehicles and depart to schedule.
2. Ensuring that all general freight is loaded and scanned on the correct vehicles and all relevant paperwork is processed as required.
3. Downloading all consignments for the following day from the network and uploading into the company TMS.
4. Prepare a routing schedule for all network freight for the following day.
5. Proactively manage the night drivers for all departments.
6. Provide on-site support for any drivers.
7. Receive trunk vehicles at various intervals throughout the night and supervise the fork lift driver(s) in the unloading of these trailers, scanning pallets and assisting with fork-lift driving as and when required.
8. Marshall up or pre-load (as required) Collection & Delivery vehicles to ensure that they are able to be despatched at the earliest opportunity.
9. Prepare all delivery manifests and paperwork for the following day.
10. Provide an effective hand over to the following shift.
11. Liaise with drivers as required.
12. Provide on-site out of hour support to other operating divisions.
13. Other duties as required.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 6 months experience working as a Transport Planner within an Office environment.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
* An understanding of tracking systems and good geographical knowledge.
* Professional telephone manner.
* Self-motivated.
* Problem solving skills and the ability to manage change.
* Ability to deal with problems effectively.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance.
* Reliable with a good work ethic and able to follow health and safety guidelines.
Hours of Work:
19.00h to 06.00h, Monday to Friday
Salary: £35,000.00 per year
