The impact you have in this role
As an Application Engineer for the Automotive Aftermarket Division you will have the opportunity to put your curiosity to good use and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in the world. Here's how to make an impact:
1. Showcasing 3M product, process and digital solutions and how they can increase profitability for bodyshop customers.
2. Relationship management with customers (end user and distributor partners)
3. Hands-on product demonstrations for large groups (internal and external training)
4. Field testing and new product evaluations
5. Testing & benchmarking the competitive product and service landscape
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:
6. Technical diploma or Apprenticeship with technical qualification
7. Relevant experiences in collision repair, damage estimation or other relevant industries (Vehicle Manufacturing or Maintenance Repair Operations)
8. Advanced computer skills (MS Office etc.)
9. Fluent English language
10. Driving licence
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include
11. Previous experience in application engineering, technical service, technical training and/or technical sales or running / managing a bodyshop.
12. Knowledge and understanding of the vehicle insurance industry and associated workflows.
13. Understanding and expertise in bodyshop estimation processes and software
14. Knowledge of how bodyshops make money and their key profitability drivers
15. "Can do/will do" attitude
16. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
17. Strong organizational skills
18. Ability to efficiently analyse, problem solve and implement solutions
19. Cognitive skills to generate new ideas and alternative solutions
20. Ability to communicate and network at all levels inside and outside of the organization and at a global level.
21. Possess strong & effective "hands-on" demonstration techniques
Location: This position is based in the Midlands UK (Atherstone/ Nuneaton, MIRA Technology Park) with hybrid working possible.
Travel: May include up to 75% domestic and occasional international travel
Relocation package: Not authorized
