The RWE Grimsby Hub is looking for two Field Engineers to support Sofia Offshore Wind Farm. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in Electrical or Mechanical systems with experience in the SGRE D14 or other Direct Drive platform turbines to assist in improving the service of the turbines. The role is SOV shift-based; however, there is some expectation of travel within the UK and abroad.
About the role:
* Predominantly be working 2 weeks on 2 weeks off SOV-based shift with some time in the Grimsby Office
* Provide expert maintenance support to the wind farm operations, covering 100 wind turbines and associated foundations, array cables, and a 24-hour control facility
* Manage major component inspections including the use of borescopes for drivetrain inspections
* Manage the warranty inspections with a team of technicians, contractors, and engineers
* Audit contractor performance against technical specifications and safety documentation
* Develop inspection procedures and improvement ideas for the site
* Work closely with the engineering and operation teams to ensure optimal planning of resources, plant downtime, and continued asset integrity through life
* You will support failure investigations as required
Job requirements and experience:
* Maintenance specialist experienced in a power generation or heavy industry environment
* Analytical approach to problem solving
* Proficient communication skills and an ability to engage specialists on complex operations
* Process-driven with an interest in continuous improvement
* Experience of supervising contractors
* Flexible due to the nature of the offshore environment
* Comfortable inspecting components offshore, often while working at height or in restricted spaces
* Diligent and able to plan your schedule
* Comfortable working in an office environment, assessing large quantities of multidisciplinary engineering information to provide solutions via reports and presentations
Advantageous, but not essential:
* A background in wind turbine maintenance on SGRE D14 turbines
