An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Yorkshire's Water, Land and Biodiversity Asset Management Team on assignment as an Asset Management Data Assistant. You will be responsible for:
• Ensuring our asset data and information is of a high quality and correctly input into the Environment Agency’s AIMS: OM system
• Making necessary improvements to our asset data system to support project leads
• Generating and providing management reports
• Assisting with the production and delivery of procurement bids, management plans and maintenance plans
• Where necessary some field-based work may be required as well as travel to local offices and nationally to meetings
These responsibilities will support the achievement of Area’s Monitoring outcomes for Water, Land & Biodiversity (WLB) asset maintenance.
You will establish and maintain good relationships with internal Water Resources, Water Quality and Flood & Coastal Risk Management clients in order to comprehensively understand their activities and needs with regards to asset maintenance.
As responding to incidents is a central part of what we do, you will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
Based in Yorkshire Area, the Asset Management team plans and manages the maintenance of Water, Land & Biodiversity assets in support of Water Resources, Water Quality and, where appropriate, Flood & Coastal Risk Management. The team delivers a vital service where the known condition of its monitoring or operational assets underpins much of the Environment Agency’s work.
Experience/skills required
The successful applicant will have:
• A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English
• Expertise in data systems and management, excellent communication skills and have a strong understanding of MS Teams, Word and Excel
• The ability to process data in a professional manner with attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• The ability and mindset to work independently, to targets and manage multiple workloads
• A great team ethic and be comfortable communicating with various internal clients
• An understanding of Hydrometry and Telemetry techniques is preferable. This is however not essential as full training will be provided.
