Job summary Mount Chambers Surgery, has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis for 30 hrs per week. The receptionist plays a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice, helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone. General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills. Main duties of the job Greeting and directing all patients. Answering incoming telephone calls. Making appointments and signposting patients to other services as appropriate. Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member. Accepting, issuing and handing out letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc. Advising patients of practice procedures. Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning. Giving out patients test results. Dealing with incoming patients requests for appointments and admin requests via digital platform. About us We are a busy town centre dispensing and training practice with around 13,700 patients based over two sites. We have 4 GP Partners and 3 Salaried GP's. We are part of Braintree Primary Care Network which has provided us with access to a multidisciplinary team which includes paramedics, clinical pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists and social prescribers. Braintree PCN has a central hub which is able to offer additional patient appointments to the member surgeries, to which we have our allocated share. We have a long established team of nurse practitioners, nurses, HCA's as well as a strong administration team and we work closely together to ensure we offer the best possible service to our patients.
