We are recruiting a Buyers Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 7.24 hours per day)
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Until 31st December 2028
Location: Office based
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Procurement Team
We pay an attractive salary of £24,294 - £25,979 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
In conjunction with the Principal Procurement Officer, the post holder will be responsible for administration of the Council’s All-Wales Food Framework on behalf of Caerphilly CBC and the wider Welsh Public Sector Collaborative Food Group.
The administration will be in line with procurement legislation and associated terms and conditions of the Food Framework. Efficient and proactive Contract Management with all participating parties will be a key requirement to ensure all mandatory and non-mandatory requirements are progressed in accordance with the overarching Framework. This includes (but not limited too): Food Safety, Performance Information, Pricing Variations, day-to-day Administration and Social Value Initiatives.
For this role, we ask that you have:
5 GCSEs Grade A*–C or equivalent Level 2 qualifications
Good working knowledge of Procurement Legislation.
The ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit Council offices which are not on bus routes to attend meetings and support service areas
