Description
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team and ensure the efficiency and reliability of our plant, machinery, and site facilities.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime. This role requires a proactive approach to diagnosing faults, implementing improvements, and maintaining the safety and efficiency of plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise machinery uptime.
* Diagnose and repair breakdowns on plant machinery, ensuring minimum disruption to operations.
* Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions and continuous improvements.
* Maintain and repair site facilities and building services.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
* Report hazards, accidents, and incidents promptly to promote a safe working environment.
* Work with power tools and conduct mechanical repairs such as bearing replacement, chain & sprocket adjustments, and belt tracking.
* Basic electrical work, including knowledge of industrial 3-phase systems, inverters, and PLCs (advantageous but not essential).
* Welding and fabrication as required.
* Ensure the availability of critical spare parts by liaising with the Maintenance Coordinator.
* Key Requirements
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
* Relevant qualification in Maintenance Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Hands-on experience with bearings, pumps, motors, and mechanical systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Physically fit and capable of working in all areas of the site, including outdoor environments and shift work.
Desirable:
* Apprentice trained in Engineering.
* Certifications such as IPAF, PASMA, FLT, MEWP, and Abrasive Wheels.
* Knowledge of PLCs, electrical control systems, and ability to read electrical schematics.
