Territory Business Development Manager, Medical Diagnostics
Type: Permanent
Location: M1 corridor (covers North East, areas of Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, North Midlands / Notts, Worcester etc) frequent travel with potential overnight stays possible
Commission Scheme: Quarterly bonus incentives & annual (growth/ retention at 2% and 1% personal development) followed by an annual bonus initiative

Russell Taylor is working exclusively with a leading IVD - Medical Devices company who are growing their sales team and looking to appoint an experienced hunter within managed services (i.e NHS); this is a great time to join this team as the company is innovating at a rapid pace, with exciting partnerships being set up & the product range at the forefront of the healthcare industry.
The Role:
1. Managing a core territory as determined by the Sales Manager to deliver agreed sales and profitability targets.
2. Attaining annual sales to pre-defined targets by growing the number of products sold to each customer and increasing the customer base.
3. Producing accurate market information to determine the potential profitability of new products.
4. Communicating market intelligence on customer needs and competitor activity.
5. Working closely with other departments including Marketing, R&D, and Customer Services.
6. Owning and maintaining accurate databases, particularly the CRM system.
7. Complying with all appropriate procedural documents.
8. Pro-actively developing, monitoring, and managing customer accounts.
9. Networking with customers and prospects at specialist meetings, forums, and presentations.
10. Managing electronic quotes and invitations to tenders (ITT) and ensuring timely responses.
11. Attending exhibitions and demonstrations as required.
12. Delivering territory-based sales campaigns and achieving planned new sales.
13. Contributing to a highly motivated sales team by networking and participating in all sales and company events.
The Person:
1. Educated to Degree level in a life science related field (ideally Microbiology) or STEM related with relevant experience.
2. Experience in selling into MANAGED SERVICES, ideally the NHS, VMD, or similar.
3. Proven experience in new business development and contract retention.
4. Understanding of clinical diagnostic methodologies with practical experience in a micro lab preferred.
5. Valid (clean) UK driving licence.
6. Willingness to travel and/or stay overnight as required.
7. Strong IT literacy (Microsoft applications) and CRM system experience.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (telephone, face-to-face, etc).
