Job Overview
We are hiring Band 2 Healthcare Assistants & Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistants. Healthcare Assistant & Senior Healthcare Assistants at James Paget University Hospital provide a range of personal care and delegated clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, our Healthcare Assistants or Senior Healthcare Assistants undertake high quality, caring and compassionate care, contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare to patients.
The following Wards that we are looking to recruit to are as follows:
1. Ward 3
2. Ward 6
3. Ward 12
4. Ward 21
So please look at the James Paget online to see what the individual wards do, and in your application please indicate the ward that you would like to work on.
The HCA role is a great entry-point into an NHS career – many of our Healthcare Assistants go on to complete further training to develop their skills and further their career. As HCA with no previous experience in care, a band 2 will provide an opportunity for progression to band 3 SHCA once training competencies are attained.
In this busy environment, roles vary depending on the type of area you work in. For example, working as a healthcare assistant on a ward is very different from working as an HCA in outpatient areas.
