CAO UK (Markets and Performance Improvement) manages the market risk of RWE Generation’s fleet of ~ 7GW of thermal generation assets, a growing portfolio of ~3GW of Renewables. RWEST also provides a route to market for other group companies as well as third parties, with sole responsibility for activities in the short-term market in the UK.
The Codes and Connections Analyst role will provide expertise in the application and interpretation of various industry codes and regulations and will promote RWE’s interests through external forums including industry work-groups and bilateral dealings with external stakeholders. In addition, the role will provide support in managing connection applications and modifications. This is an excellent opportunity to gain expertise in industry codes and connections that will increasingly shape the future of the GB energy system.
* Promote the interests of RWE through lobbying and representation at forums across electricity, gas and other markets as required
* Support the process of connections applications and modifications
* Develop policy and strategy positions in relation to industry codes and wider relevant regulations that protect RWE’s interests
* Provide written consultation responses relating to industry codes
* Consult with stakeholders and deliver responses from RWE on specific industry change proposals including assessment of the potential impact on RWE
* Develop and deliver initiatives that help to mitigate the regulatory risks facing the RWE Group
* Develop specific expertise in the GB energy trading arrangements, connections and network charging
* Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
* Sound knowledge of the energy markets in GB or a willingness to learn
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to manage a varied workload across multiple topics
* Have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to a changing and challenging work environment
