A rare opportunity as arisen for an Administrative Assistant to support the friendly Community Dietetic service in north NHS Highland.
You will provide professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial support and be the first point of contact for colleagues, patients and their families who are accessing the Community Dietetic service.
We are looking for an individual with an open, friendly manner who has strong administrative and computer skills. Ideally, a working knowledge and a high level of competence of Microsoft Office Packages. Knowledge and practical experience using hospital based systems, such as Track and digital dictation would be helpful, however training can be provided.
Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal are essential as well as a high degree of interpersonal skills with the ability to deal sensitively with highly confidential issues.
The ability to work unsupervised whilst using your own initiative as well as being able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team is essential. You must also be able to work to challenging timescales by organising and prioritising your workload and have the flexibility to respond well to rapidly changing demands.
The Community Dietetic service covers a wide geographical area and as such we can offer flexibility on where the post holder might be based. The role is likely to require some travel across the region to meet the needs of the service..

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
