Multi-skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) - Chertsey, Surrey Job Type: Full Time Location: THORPE PARK Resort, KT16 8PN Hours: Open Season (March-Nov): 7 on 4 off, then 7 on 3 off shift pattern with split shifts. From in season inspection and reactive maintenance to out of season annual planned maintenance on some of the UK’s best and favourite rides. As a team, being dependable in making sure that KPI’s, such as technical ride availability and Net Promoter Score, are met. Responsibilities: Responsibilities in this position will change dependent on Thorpe Parks operational season and please be aware that some of these responsibilities would be undertaken at height. Utilising PPM task plans to carry out daily safety critical inspections upon rides, vehicles and other attractions. Reactive maintenance and repairs, tracked through work order creation and completion. Undertaking of preplanned maintenance, including but not limited to: Strip down and rebuild of attraction vehicles, i.e. trains, cars, boats. Strip down and rebuild of mechanical brake assemblies. (Mech) Strip down and resealing of pneumatic cylinders. (Mech) Motor testing and trending. (Elec) Rewiring of panels. (Elec) Electrical inspections on control systems and ride parts. Adherence to safety practices and quality standards, such as HSG175. Running diagnostics and preventative/predictive maintenance. Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and logs in support of ongoing compliance metrics. Maintain good workshop standards utilising 5S / LEAN methodologies. Assist with auditing and ordering critical spare components for rides and attractions. Qualifications & Experience An ONC, NVQ level 3 or BTEC equivalent gained through an Apprenticeship or college route in engineering. Post apprenticeship/qualification experience Inspection experience would be advantageous Full understanding of engineering-related statutory requirements such as COSHH. Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems of work. The ability to read and use engineering drawings. The ability to display problem solving and diagnostic skills. Previous work in a theme park environment is not essential, engineering experience gathered on other electrical systems will be equally suitable. Have experience of using technical manuals, risk assessments and related documentation.
