Would you like to work for the charity that cares for hundreds of historic sites in every corner of England? We are looking for a Visitor Assistant to join us at Stonehenge working 3-5 days per week.
No history background? No problem. What is important to us is a passion for people and excellent customer service. You will enjoy working with others as part of a team and understand what makes excellent customer service to deliver an engaging visitor experience to a diverse audience.
As a member of the site team at Stonehenge, you will be joining a creative and dynamic team of employees and volunteers who have a passion for history and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with visitors. Providing an excellent visitor experience is at the heart of what we do - from explaining the site's history in the Exhibition to ensuring the safe transit of visitors on our bus platforms, we want visitors to leave inspired by Stonehenge and English Heritage. If you have a passion for history, love being outdoors, and desire to join a varied work environment where no two days are the same, then this is the role for you.
Working at Stonehenge is a great opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the creative, inclusive, and passionate team that we are so proud of. Through your engagement with our visitors, you will play a key part in inspiring the next generation of history lovers, all whilst helping us to share the benefits of English Heritage membership with the many people we welcome onto site each year. If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you.
Benefits include:
1. The opportunity for career progression within the heritage sector in retail, food and beverage or general management
2. Opportunities to go to some of our great live music and history events
3. Free access to all English Heritage sites for you, and up to 6 friends and/or family members
4. 25% discount in our shops and cafes
5. Enhanced maternity/paternity/shared parental leave
6. 25 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays pro rata, rising to 28 days after 3 years
7. Options to buy additional leave
8. Matched pension contributions up to a maximum of 10%
We take wellbeing seriously. We are committed to ensuring everyone feels safe at work and can carry out their role. To support this, we have a network of Mental Health First aiders, regular information and awareness events, unlimited access to an Employee Assistance Programme, and work with our people to implement reasonable adjustments.
