Job purpose To operate as a key member of the Engineering department responsible for the development and delivery of detailed design and construction information for the HVAC and Building Services systems. Manage and support the Design & Build technical activities, to ensure timely delivery of all Design & Build technical output to Client and Stakeholder requirements. To support the UK based team in Business Development and Work Winning to develop our D&B function in the UK. Duties and responsibilities Responsible for: Engage with new and existing Clients as part of the work winning process to demonstrate Ardmac’s technical competence and to develop a clear understanding of the scope for pricing purposes. Development of detailed design information for elements of the Mechanical/HVAC systems for particular projects to agreed budgets specifications & schedules. Responsible for ensuring that the mechanical/HVAC design is developed in line with relevant Client and Industry Standards & guidelines. Ensuring effective implementation of the Engineering procedures for all building services work. To provide technical support during the tendering process. Developing relationships with customers, end user clients and supply chain partnerships. Market research relating to products/materials to be specified as part of the mechanical/HVAC systems being designed. Ability to complete technical assessments on products and materials from various vendors to determine the optimum design solution for a particular project. Ensuring co-ordination of all design information with site construction teams to achieve project schedules and budgets. Knowledge generation of all relevant products including statutory and regulatory developments. Attending tender launch and adjudication meetings as required. Implementing technical innovation, value creation and right first-time delivery as part of the design development on all contracts. Development of design solutions specific to Ardmac’s modular and off-site manufacturing offerings. Use existing network and contacts to help to generate D&B opportunities in the UK. Use existing supply chain network to identify potential partners for project delivery during the tender phase. Attend site during the construction and commissioning phases to provide technical support as required to the project delivery team. Qualifications and experience Qualifications: BSc. In Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 5 years experience of designing mechanical/HVAC services installations in sectors including cleanroom, data-centre, healthcare, medtech and lithium battery. A mix of consultant and contractor experience desirable. Ability and knowledge of: Statutory and Regulatory Procedures Building Services best practice Detailed knowledge of Technical Systems and Procedures Knowledge & experience of developing design for projects in Cleanroom facilities. Knowledge and experience of modular/ off-site design solutions Understanding of best practice for design of mechanical/HVAC systems for Cleanroom facilities. BIM using revit MEP Experience in the use of relevant MEP design software packages. Standard forms of contract, inc Design and Build Estimating, procurement & payment terms Technical Innovation and Value Creation Client facing/Customer Relationship Management methods
