She/he will be pushing the boundaries of our proprietary gene delivery technology within the realm of liver diseases. This role presents a unique opportunity to explore the multifaceted applications of gene writing for liver disease, paving the way for novel therapeutic avenues and for potential partnerships that could redefine the landscape of genetic medicine. The successful candidate will oversee the execution of liver program-related activities, from target identification, target validation, drug candidate nomination to regulatory filings. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and energetic scientist with superior communication skills, who can establish and ultimately lead a cross-functional lab-based team running multiple projects, act as scientific leader and seek and establish novel methods and processes to enhance projects across the Liver Disease Research area. Reporting to the Sr. Princ Sci, Gene Therapy, this position has vast learning opportunities in the field of permanent gene insertion into the genome, while working in a fast-paced cross-functional team setting.
Position Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the Liver Therapeutics strategy
2. Lead the execution of internal liver programs and develop the path to candidate, including Go/no-go decision, from target identification, validation (on and off target), in vitro and in vivo proof-of-principle for program-related gene delivery reagents.
3. Manage the work of others directly as well as in a matrixed structure.
4. Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Typewriter Therapeutics including but not limited to the molecular, cell biology, nonclinical, bioanalytical, CMC and formulation teams
5. Critically analyze data generated to inform scientific program strategy, program decisions and subsequent stages of drug development
