We’re looking for Product Managers to join our Product Delivery team and help us make a difference to our planet.
As Product Manager, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunities are full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

Your world of expertise
You will have product owner and product management responsibilities for products and services within our portfolios that are key in helping our customers make better decisions so that citizens stay safe and thrive. You will maximise the value delivered by using your knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities for your delivery teams.
We have exciting vacancies across a number of areas, which may include:
* Citizens, Hazards and Media - enabling UK Citizens and the responder community to make better decisions.
* Data Products and Data Supply - products, services and capabilities that provide access to Met Office data.
* Defence, Transport and Civil Aviation.
* Modernisation of Operational Meteorologist Tools and Systems.
Our Product Manager role is within the Government Digital and Data (GDaD) profession, adopted by the Met Office as guidance to ways of working to ensure our public digital services meet government standards.
* Develop, own and communicate a product vision and roadmap based on customer, stakeholder and user needs.
* Identify and manage development dependencies on other directly or indirectly related systems or products.
* Effective and efficient product lifecycle management. Feed into product development and optimisation, rationalisation, and retirement in line with Met Office project and programme plans, ensuring we do not commit to anything outside of our organisational strategies.
* Have a strong customer focus. Gather and analyse user feedback to create customer requirements and to help develop product strategy.

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:
* You’re an expert by nature with a strong understanding of the agile software development lifecycle, and proven experience in managing product lifecycles.
* You keep evolving with practical experience of user research methods, including the ability to gather, analyse and prioritise users’ requirements and evaluate these against business needs.
* Proven experience of working better together in multi-faceted teams to investigate and analyse what adds value for the effort required, while addressing uncertainty and managing scope.
* You live and breathe it by demonstrating strong communication skills including influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to get agreement on the strategic approach while building trust and resolving issues in challenging conditions.
* You’re a force for good working with stakeholders to define a vision and understand the value, benefits and outcomes that justify investment in the product or service, working with others to define metrics against those outcomes.
