Design Technician / Coordinators Construction Related Design
c£35k - £45k (Dependent on Relevant Experience)
The Company
This company designs, manufactures, and installs interior fit-out related systems on some of the most prestigious commercial construction projects in London and the surrounding area. They have a young, vibrant workforce and are a market leader looking to expand their capability. Their contracts are varied and interesting, ranging in value from £100k to £2m. Specific training and experience relating to their products will be gained during employment.
The Design Technician Role
Based in their regional offices in Burgess Hill, they have an excellent opportunity for experienced and talented CAD Designers with exceptional 2D & 3D drafting capability to join a very experienced team of Design Managers and Senior Design Managers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Work on a variety of blue-chip landmark commercial office interior fit-out projects throughout London, collaborating with prestigious tier one contractors and architects on projects ranging from £25k up to £5m.
* Create visuals and design drawings for tender stage through to fabrication drawings for manufacturing.
* Maintain awareness of costs and work closely with the commercial department.
The Successful Design Technician
Will be an experienced CAD technician/designer, although the role would also suit a recent graduate. Must be a good communicator, confident in presenting and developing proposals in client meetings. The primary function is to provide design support to the sales and estimating team by translating architects' drawings into proposals to demonstrate any differences and prevent confusion, and to develop proposals that can be issued to the supply chain to obtain tenders.
Required Skills:
* Expertise with AutoCAD.
* Production of Working/Production Drawings for Manufacturing Purposes.
* Experience with Revit would be advantageous.
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Self-managed, motivated, and hard-working.
* Knowledge of the construction or architectural business is preferable.
