About the Role
We are looking to recruit senior support workers to work at a learning disabilitiy home for young adults located in Haverhill and whom are looking for ad-hoc, flexible shifts. These shifts can accumulate into either full time hours or part time hours, but will be offered on a 0 hours contract.
As a senior support worker your key responsibilities will be similar to a support worker, but with additional responsibilities. You will carry out specific duties assigned by the registered manager, including delegating duties to the support team. As well as having increased responsibility, you will support and assist support staff where required or work alone with the people we support.
Everyday tasks will consist of the following, but not be limited to;
* Assisting with individuals’ care, including personal care.
* Participating in the development and implementation of support plans.
* Ordering, receiving, storing and administering medication to the people you support.
* Help with managing finances
* Accessing community facilities, going shopping and meeting friends
* Providing general emotional support.
* Delegating tasks to a team of support workers and managing the home in the absence of the Home and Deputy Manager
About the Person
A suitable candidate for this position will be somebody that has a minimum of 4 months experience in a residential setting as a senior support worker and whom has previously supported people with a learning disability. A individual who holds a Diploma and/ or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care, as well as somebody who is medication trained. Somebody that has a good understanding of spoken and written English. Somebody that is compassionate, patient and enjoys helping others.
