Are you a seasoned finance professional looking to make a significant impact as a global environmental services leader? Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions (Veolia WTS) is seeking a Lead Controller to join our team in UK&I.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial excellence and support our mission of creating a more sustainable future.
As the Lead Controller, you will play a crucial role in maintaining strong controllership processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements, and supporting growth initiatives across the EMEA region. Your expertise will be instrumental in improving financial practices and driving operational efficiency.
Day-to-Day Duties:
• Support the EMEA Controller in maintaining robust controllership processes
• Drive simplification and identify potential controllership risks
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements
• Provide technical accounting and financial reporting advice
• Work closely with commercial and operations teams to understand financial implications of transactions
• Manage external and internal audits, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
• Partner with FP&A teams to drive Legal Entity profitability
• Ensure timely and accurate closing processes
• Maintain functional integrity and proper controls for business assets and accounting activities
Qualifications
Skills and Experience Required:
• Degree in Finance/Accounting or industry experience
• ACCA or equivalent IFRS certification
• Extensive experience in General Accounting, Tax, and Audit
• Corporate audit or public accounting experience (Big4 experience is advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting and financial controlling
• SAP experience and advanced Excel skills
• Experience in stakeholder management and matrix organizations
• Ability to challenge the status quo and develop finance processes
• Strong communication skills and relationship-building abilities
