Summary We're looking for a 'Welcome & Service Assistant' to join our Welcome Team at Clumber Park. Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service.Weekend, bank holiday and school holiday work will be required, with team members typically working around half of all weekend days and most bank holidays.Interviews will be held on the 12th February 2025.Clumber park is in a rural area so please think about how you would be able to get here for work before you apply for this job. Salary: £11.64 per hour Contract/duration: Fixed term contract until 28 Feb 2026 Hours/working pattern: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we’re looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We’d give you as much notice of this as possible. This contract will be an average of 1 to 3 shifts per week. For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. What it's like to work here Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore. From the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a 'Cathedral in miniature', you can follow in the footsteps of Dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.? What you'll be doing Clumber Park is currently the busiest pay-for-entry property the National Trust, with over 650,000 visitors annually – and you’ll be welcoming them Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a passion for delivering great customer service.?Most days, you'll be welcoming visitors at our Welcome Points; taking admission, scanning National Trust membership cards and providing information/orientation to them - promoting events, activities and offers to ensure every visitor gets the most out of their visit. You'll also welcome delivery drivers, contractors, volunteers and fellow staff members which supports the smooth running of whole-site operations. As part of the wider welcome team, you’ll work to target to promote and facilitate new National Trust membership applications and signpost other ways in which visitors can support our charity – including purchasing items from the Second-hand Bookshop or Walled Kitchen Garden produce cart, adding to their pin badge collection, or even leaving a gift in their will. Some days, you’ll be based at the Information Point in the ‘core’ visitor area; answering visitor queries, facilitating mobility scooter bookings, and completing National Trust membership applications. Other days, you’ll carry our ‘Rover’ duties; this is a ‘mobile engagement’ role involving interacting with visitors who are parked in the wider-parkland, outside of Clumber Park’s designated parking areas – primarily along the verges of Lime Tree Avenue. You’ll engage with visitors parked in these areas to communicate our conservation message, and update them on ongoing changes to parking and access. You'll provide mobile ‘welfare’ support to your fellow Welcome & Service Assistants who are positioned at our remote Welcome Points - facilitating comfort/lunch breaks throughout the day and operational support during busier spells.You'll occasionally support in the delivery of events at times throughout the year, including some car-parking duties. Working within the wider portfolio team of staff and volunteers you'll deliver outstanding visitor service. You'll also support across the property/portfolio when required.
