About the role
An exciting new role within our Property Function! Tesco is recruiting for a new Fleet Manager! This role wil coordinate all aspects of fleet management for our Property Maintenance function including ensuring optimal vehicle standards and availability, enabling our teams to be in the right place at the right time, with the right equipment. This role will require collaborating with various teams to ensuring compliance
You will be responsible for
Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence and have these specific risk responsibilities:
* Planned supplier review meetings held using important metrics performance, trend analysis, & field feedback.
* Engagement with field users and managers to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, vehicle policies and processes.
* Tracking of fleet assets and data validity whilst ensuring all fleet assets are compliant and serviceable.
* Ownership of EV strategy and implementation to the field, ensuring compliance with sustainability targets.
* Co-ordination of EV onboarding, including local engagement with technicians and associated data review.
* Delivery of the Fleet budget, identifying risks and opportunities and supporting Maintenance Managers with insight into local performance.
* Reviewing supplier invoices and PO requests.
* Working with procurement to facilitate purchase of vehicles that are appropriate to Maintenance purpose.
* Driver risk management.
* Working with supply chain management to provide an appropriate warehouse solution for all required tools and van stocks.
* Developing and owning your operational and leadership skills to be a fleet expert, networking inside and outside of the group and function, and providing support to other colleagues.
* Working with the continuous improvement team to lead on innovation and improvement within our Fleet management processes, driving out cost and growing vehicle availability.
You will need
* Experience of managing a large and varied Fleet portfolio and managing a budget with financial forecasting
* Experience of implementing change
* Strong understanding of vehicle and driver compliance requirements
* Engagement and management of suppliers to ensure optimal performance implementation of long-term strategic plans
