Overview: We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Project Manager for a contract role within a leading food manufacturing facility. You will ensure that the infrastructure project is executed in compliance with CDM (2015) and food manufacturing safety regulations, including HACCP and GMP.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Oversight: Manage the comprehensive planning and execution of the project, ensuring minimal disruption to production and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
2. Health & Safety Leadership: Develop, implement, and monitor safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes specific to the project. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews to proactively identify and mitigate hazards. Organise and lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions.
3. Operational Coordination: Schedule and coordinate daily activities on site, ensuring that all tasks are executed safely and to the required specifications. Maintain clear communication regarding safety performance and emerging risks.
4. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and update all project-related documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and daily site reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent safety qualification)
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health & safety project management within a food manufacturing or process engineering environment.
* In-depth knowledge of CDM (2015), HACCP, GMP, and other relevant health and safety legislation.
* Current First Aid at Work certification
* Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Additional certifications such as SMSTS or HACCP are advantageous.
