The role would be suitable for applicants who have received their CCT in the previous 2 years and who have not previously held a substantive role within General Practice.
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
The post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks:
* The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
* Undertake duty doctor role as required by the practice.
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
* Providing counselling and health education.
* Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards and collecting data for audit purposes.
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

Qualifications
Essential
* Full GMC registration, inclusion on the NHS England Performers List, and eligibility to work in the UK.
* Received their CCT in the previous 2 years and who have not previously held a substantive role within General Practice.
Desirable
* Experience in primary care, knowledge of QOF, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
