Job Responsibilities:
1. To assist in meeting the care and support needs of the residents, helping with dressing/undressing, washing, bathing, and personal hygiene where necessary, in line with their care plans and risk assessments.
2. To help residents with their mobility and other physical needs (e.g. continence), assisting with the use of disability aids and caring for the same, where appropriate, including pushing wheelchairs.
3. To assist in the administration, record keeping, control, and storage of medicines, including controlled drugs, as detailed in the medication administration record.
4. To help organize social activities and to participate in them to promote residents' esteem and physical and mental well-being. To accompany residents on community visits where required and as duty rotas permit, either as a group or 1:1 support for activities of the person's choice.
5. Ensure the safety and well-being of residents, recognizing the signs and symptoms of abuse and to act on concerns appropriately, including reporting and recording all concerns, in line with safeguarding policies.
6. To help set up the dining room/meal trays in readiness for mealtimes. To help clear up after meals, ensuring all dirty cutlery, crockery, and utensils are returned to the kitchen, and assist with washing up.
7. To help serve food, assisting residents with eating and drinking as required. To prepare light meals and snacks if necessary, ensuring all residents' dietary needs are catered for in line with individual care plans.
8. To help make and change beds and assist with light domestic duties such as tidying rooms, dusting, polishing, cleaning windows (internal surfaces), and emptying commodes as may be required.
9. To collect residents' dirty clothing and take to the laundry for washing and drying, returning laundered and ironed clothes to the residents. To inspect and mend/darn clothing where practical.
10. To monitor residents' conditions and report any changes to the Senior/Manager.
11. To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Infection Prevention & Control, Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety Regulations, including undertaking cleaning duties as required. To report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to the Senior/Manager.
12. To read and write reports on the Access Care & Clinical system and record daily notes and incidents that occur promptly. To participate as appropriate.
13. To participate in staff and residents' meetings, and also in training activities/courses, as directed by Managers.
14. To assist with End-of-Life Care for residents who are terminally ill.
15. To undertake other duties, as necessary.

Pay: £11.75-£12.00 per hour
