A care worker provides support to individuals who may need assistance due to illness, disability, age, or other factors. Their duties vary depending on the needs of the individuals they support, but generally, they include:
1. Personal Care:
o Assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
o Helping with mobility, transferring clients in and out of beds or chairs, and using mobility aids.
2. Health and Medication Support:
o Administering medication or reminding individuals to take their medication as prescribed.
o Assisting with feeding and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
3. Emotional and Social Support:
o Providing companionship and offering emotional support.
o Encouraging social interaction and helping individuals stay connected with family or friends.
o Providing reassurance and offering a comforting presence.
4. Domestic Assistance:
o Helping with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
o Assisting with organizing and maintaining the living environment to ensure it is safe.
5. Communication and Documentation:
o Recording and reporting changes in the person’s condition or behaviour.
o Communicating effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and other care team members.
6. Personal Advocacy:
o Supporting individuals in making choices and decisions about their care and activities.
o Ensuring clients' rights are respected and advocating for their needs.

Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous Experience: While experience in care work is desired, it is not essential as full training is provided.
* Communication Skills: Clear communication is key, both spoken and written, to ensure effective care and interaction with clients and colleagues.
* Good Standard of English: A good level of written and spoken English is required for understanding care plans, documenting client information, and communicating effectively.
* Driver: A driver's license and access to your own car are essential to travel between clients or work locations.
* Flexibility: The role requires flexibility, including the ability to work alternative weekends.
* You must have the right to work in the UK.
* Sponsorship is NOT available for this role.
