Do you have leadership and teaching experience in Plumbing, Electrical Installation or Engineering?
EKC Ashford College are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Building Services and Engineering.
This role is open to experienced teachers of either Plumbing, or Electrical Installation, or Engineering (Mechanical or Electronic/Electrical). As a Deputy Head you will be responsible for improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in the department, monitoring key performance indicators and instigating swift and effective intervention.
You will be responsible for the line management of the Lecturers and Programme Directors within your specialism. You'll support your team's professional development and performance, working closely with the Head of Department, developing and implementing strategies to improve student experience and outcomes for learners; this includes carrying out regular and impactful quality assurance and quality improvement activity, and the regular analysis of data and subsequent interventions.
You will develop professional relationships with stakeholders, such as parents/carers and local employers, and drive a curriculum that fits the local need.

About You
We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to work alongside the Head of Department to oversee the delivery of programmes of study and courses. You will have well developed managerial and interpersonal skills.
You should have a background in education, a teaching qualification and experience of line managing, or leading a team.
The main focus of the role is people management, and you will be responsible for completing staff appraisals, teaching and learning observations and staff one to one meetings.
You should have experience of an education environment, and delivering high quality teaching to young people. You will be the first point of contact when the Head of Department is off site.
