Job Overview
A leading engineering firm is looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer - MEP Systems to ensure the quality and compliance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations on a high-profile project. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality assurance procedures, inspections, and ensuring adherence to UK (England and Wales) standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for:
1. Mechanical Systems (Fire Fighting, Sanitary Water, Cooling Pipework, HVAC)
2. Electrical Systems (LV Cabling, Lighting, Lightning Protection, ELV Systems)
2. Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications.
3. Review and verify MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
4. Perform site audits and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality deviations.
5. Work with subcontractors to maintain quality standards throughout the project.
6. Implement and manage Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) for MEP installations.
7. Maintain and organize QA/QC records, test reports, and approvals.
8. Assist in commissioning and handover procedures, ensuring compliance with system functionality.
9. Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality-related issues and corrective actions.
10. Ensure all work adheres to UK MEP regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Requirements
1. Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
2. Proven experience in QA/QC for MEP systems in large-scale construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection processes, and testing procedures.
4. Familiarity with UK (England & Wales) regulations, codes, and best practices.
5. Experience in NCR management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
6. Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality documents.
7. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
8. Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
9. Valid UK work permit required.
