The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust strives to innovate and improve care to patients. The Trust has recently approved the business case for a new pharmacy aseptic, clinical trials, and radiopharmacy facility. The new facility is expected to be in operation in 2025.
The prime function of the unit is the preparation of cytotoxic, monoclonal antibodies, and clinical trials in a safe and efficient manner according to Good Manufacturing Practice and National Standards.

We welcome applicants from hospital and industry preferably with aseptic experience, but not essential as full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
1. Proven post-qualification experience in pharmaceutical QA and/or aseptic production.
2. Planning and prioritising of workload and task allocation.
3. Supporting the training of pre-registration and support staff in Quality Assurance activities.
4. Will form part of a small, dedicated QA service provided to Pharmacy Aseptic Services, which will be working towards holding a Manufacturing Specials.
5. Will participate weekly in production-related activities and undertake Accredited Checking Technician in the Pharmacy Aseptic Services as part of the Pharmacy Technician Aseptic Services rotas.
6. Work on their own initiative at times under the supervision of Senior, Principal and Chief Technicians.
7. Support the work of the Pharmacy Aseptic Services in the provision of a weekend service, late nights, and bank holidays in the Aseptic Unit. Overall operational accountability rests with the Principal Technician Aseptic and Clinical Trials Services.
8. To act as a product approver, carry out the final approval checks, according to standard operating procedures on medicinal products prepared in the pharmacy aseptic unit.

Qualifications
* Btec in Pharmaceutical science and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, Science degree, Science Manufacturing Technician or equivalent.
* Registration with appropriate professional body.
* Education / teaching / training qualifications.
Experience
* Proven experience working in a pharmacy or laboratory environment.
* Experience working in a QA or QC environment.
* Experience working in aseptic services.
* Working within a licensed facility.
* Experience of developing and implementing Standard operating procedures.
* Experience of pharmaceutical microbiology.
* Ability to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
