A secondary based in Oldham is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Lead to join their safeguarding team. In this vital role, you will work closely with our safeguarding and pastoral staff to uphold the safety, well-being, and educational development of all students. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, resilience, and a strong commitment to supporting young people in reaching their full potential. As a key team player, you will develop effective relationships with students, parents, carers, colleagues, and partner organisations, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment Key Responsibilities Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting the safeguarding team in ensuring the welfare and safety of all students. Work alongside the pastoral team to monitor and address student needs, applying safeguarding procedures and promoting a safe school culture. Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and partner organisations, ensuring open communication and consistent support. Collaborate with staff to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for all students. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of safeguarding practices within the school Key Requirements: Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational or similar setting. Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in achieving their full potential. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to promote a positive school culture.
