Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative Clinical Ward Leader for Benham Ward (hyperacute stroke ward). The role of the clinical ward leader will focus on the provision of high quality, visible, professional leadership, setting and maintaining standards of clinical excellence, improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families, carers as well as staff. The successful candidate must have the ability to provide positive leadership and development to the clinical teams and act as a role model in all they do. This post would suit a current band 7 who is looking for a change or an opportunity for a Band 6 with credible skills to develop into a clinical ward leader. The successful candidate will have to build a working relationship with the stroke specialist nurses and stroke rehabilitation ward as well as the wider MDT (physiotherapist, occupational therapist, SALT and dietician) to ensure a smooth pathway for stroke patients. The post holder will act as a role model for clinical leadership; setting and upholding agreed clinical standards and enabling patients to receive high quality evidenced based care.They will be a visible presence for all patients and visitors to the area and provide a pivotal role for inter-professional working.They will be responsible for infection prevention and control, budget management, patient safety and experience and compliance with Trust values, policies and providing the best possible care to achieve excellence.
