Job Description
Live Life Aberdeenshire is looking for someone with excellent customers service skills to join our libraries and cultural team.
As part of the libraries team, you will assist in the provision of library services to the school community. As well as having excellent communication skills, you will need good digital skills and the ability to work with all age groups. In addition, the postholder will participate in a range of duties such as helping pupils and teachers with any library enquiries, supporting literacy and organising school library events and promoting use of the school library. It is essential that you have a flexible approach and an enthusiasm for libraries and culture.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
The post is 33 hours per week, term time only until June 2025. You will be required to work Monday to Friday during term time. Starting time is 8.30am every day, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 4pm and Thursday and Friday until 3pm.
