Health, Safety and Quality Advisor | Bewdley, Worcestershire | Part Time - 20 flexible hours per week | £30,000 - £40,000 pro-rata
Our client, based in Bewdley, Worcestershire, has been manufacturing industrial adhesives for over 30 years. In 2024, they became part of the Meridian Adhesives Group (MAG), a global organisation with manufacturing facilities in the USA, Asia, the UK and Europe.
As part of their ambitious growth plans, they are looking for a dedicated Health, Safety and Quality Advisor to join their dynamic team at their Bewdley factory and support their continued success.
The Health, Safety & Quality Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and quality regulations within the adhesive manufacturing business. They will promote a culture of safety, provide expert advice, conduct risk assessments, and ensure the implementation of policies and procedures that safeguard employees, visitors, and company assets. Additionally, they will oversee quality control processes to ensure that products meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Are you the right person for the job?
Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent)
Experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and quality legislation and best practices
Excellent communication and training skills
Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What will your role look like?
Develop, implement, and review health, safety, and quality policies and procedures
Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and quality legislation and industry standards
Deliver health and safety training and awareness programs to employees
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports with recommendations for prevention
Maintain accurate records of health and safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions
Support the Operations Director in developing safety and quality strategies and initiatives
Liaise with external health and safety and quality control authorities to ensure timely reporting of required data
Promote a positive health, safety, and quality culture within the organisation
Provide guidance on the safe use of equipment and materials
Monitor and advise on occupational health issues and workplace ergonomics
Ensure quality control processes are in place and oversee product testing and compliance
Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues
