Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Business Support Officer i on behalf of Luton Borough Council.\n\nMain purpose of position:\n\nThe post holder will provide high level administration support and information to the Strategy, Engagement & Implementation. They will support the management of the Team inbox's to action the tasks according to priority with the aim of improving the quality of data that is recorded on social care systems. They will also provide support to ensure the efficient running of projects.
They will support the administration tasks in relation to external suppliers and contribute to the performance management in relation to the key performance indicators set.\n\nAs a Business support officer you will be responsible to:\n\nUndertake and lead on complex administrative tasks in a high volume and deadline driven environment\nManage specific project support tasks with minimal supervision as part of own workload as required by line management\nSupport the management of team email box(s) to ensure action in a timely way ensuring accurate recording\nEnsure data recorded is accurate and concise\nCreation, development and maintenance of records, files and statistical information for evidence based data\nHandle conflicting priorities from managers being aware of public scrutiny and partnership working within LBC and with local stakeholders requiring a high level of professionalism\nTaking on a coordination function between the council and externally commissioned resource to support timely actions and forward planning\nManage the logistics and administration of all identified project meetings, to include suitable minute taking records, ensuring the division maintain a uniformed communication strategy and information flow across all meetings\nMaintain and collate management information to meet divisional management requirements, and produce periodic reports within defined time-scales to enable management to review performance\nDevelop, implement, maintain and monitor administrative systems and procedures to support operational needs of the division, ensure the team is up to date with public information, national and local policies, procedures and strategy\nBe able, and as a nominated responsible officer, to undertake the processing of invoices, and stores requisitions, managing the distribution and the returning of laptops and equipment as and when required, maintaining accurate records\nTo participate and where required facilitate working relationships with teams and staff from other divisions to ensure consistency as far as practicable\nContribute to the maintenance of a healthy, safe, effective working environment, monitoring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements including H&S, property, equipment issues, and IT facilities\nEnsure that relevant corporate and departmental procedures are available and kept up to dateSkills and Experience\n\nDemonstrable administrative experience including developing, managing and maintaining complex administrative systems and procedures\nSome experience of organising and leading project work\nPrevious local authority experience or Social Care setting\nAbility to communicate and build effective relationships with staff and stakeholders in a polite manner at levels\nAbility to write clear letters and reports\nGood IT skills\nAble to use own initiative\nAbility to perform basic calculations and analyse and interpret data\nExcellent administrative and organisational skills\nAble to provide a quality service to customers\nSome understanding of national policy surrounding health and social care\nEducation to Level 2 Business management or equivalent experience\nAble to attend meetings and undertake work at various locations throughout the BoroughAbout Us\n\nLuton Borough Council have partnered with Kent County Council to create Connect2Luton, a recruitment managed service for all contingent temporary agency, contract, and interim roles at the Council.\n\nOur heritage and being local government owned which means we have a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the public sector, with many of our employees having previously worked for the Council or have supplied previously into the Council, for several years.\n\nWe are an equal opportunities employment agency and business that positively encourages applications from all suitably qualified and eligible candidates.\n\nConnect2Luton is a trading style of Luton & Kent Commercial Services LLP - A joint venture between Luton Borough Council & Commercial Services Kent Ltd.
