Job responsibilities The post holder will have proven leadership capability, extensive clinical experience of working in multi-professional teams and working with the MAPs agenda. The role involves working with internal and external regional stakeholders and the post holder will need to establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, facilitating discussions to ensure effective engagement and responsiveness, to support and capture local innovation and develop best practice. They will provide expert professional and clinical advice and through scoping and defining current MAPs provision. They will ensure processes are documented, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and oversee their ongoing and sustained delivery. The post holder will work with colleagues in other regions to develop further consistency and commonality across education and training in England. The post holder will also ensure they work to the principles within NHSEs Quality Framework ensuring quality learning environments for all learners and that patient safety and quality improvement is at the core of all activities. The post holder will contribute to workforce transformation programmes, advising on the contribution of MAPs roles and supporting the embedding of these roles across the system. The focus of this role is to: Lead the development and roll out of the PA and AA Workforce Supply strategy for NEY working with service providers and HEIs to maintain and grow the supply in accordance with service need. Manage the PA and AA Ambassador scheme on behalf of NHSE NEY, which will include budget management, appointing ambassadors to the roles, liaising with local Faculties and service providers with regard to enabling the take up of Physician Associate roles in service. Conduct a scoping exercise to identify current qualified PA/AA workforce in NEY, including baseline numbers, demand, and exemplar services, whilst identifying challenges and barriers to retention and attrition. This will enable recommendations to NHSE regional and national team, and other stakeholders on future workforce development investment priorities for MAPs. Support local faculties and service providers in the development of PA preceptorship programmes. Represent NHSE NEY at national MAPs Development and Liaison meetings as required. Support the identification, project development and implementation of proven role extension and advancement opportunities for MAPs within NEY.
